Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."   
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with Cobalt Stripe, Applied Handles with Cobalt Accents, the Company Advertising in the Middle Surrounding a Rose adn Acorns and Accented by Small Leaves and Blossoms, and a Broad Bottom Stripes.  Stands 14" Tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind. a surface drying/firing line on the underside in the making and not seen inside (closeup).
