Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Cute 1 Gallon Stoneware Molasses Jug made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and Rich Albany Slip Glaze. You can see the fingertips of the potter at the bottom of both sides from when he dipped the jug in the slip! Stands 9" tall.
Excellent Condition. A narrow 1/4" glaze flake on the spout. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A small stoneping below the pottery stamp in the making.
