Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made for "Thomas Hope & Co., Grocers, 132 Chambers St., Cor. College Plac[e], New York."
 
Dating about 1860, this beauty features a Short and Rounded Form, Four Lines of Advertising with Cobalt Wash, and a Freehand Double Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 12 1/4" tall.
 
Excellent Condition. A 1" chip on the bottom of the right side, and some staining in the left side.  That's it!  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A flat chip on top of the handle and a stone ping on the right side-- both in the making.  
 
As you know, NYC impressed and decorated advertising stoneware is tough to find!
