Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Exquisitely Molded Lidded Canister with Embossed Decoration.
It was made by the Whites Pottery of Utica, New York between 1890 and 1907 when Whites made its fabulous molded stoneware. A similar piece can be seen in Christopher Bensch, The Blue and the Gray: Oneida County Stoneware, pp. 25, 26.
This beauty features a Raised Background of Geometric Designs that Hosts Three Embossed Leaves with Gorgeous Cobalt Overlay. The lid repeats the geometric designs. Measures 4 3/4" tall and 5" wide.
Excellent Condition. The base is mint. The lid has two narrow 3/8" sliver flakes on the inside of the overhanging portion of the lid out of sight. No other apologies.
