Item 7001
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and uncommon Half Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "J. E. Eneix, New Geneva, PA. "
This is the mark of James Eneix who made stoneware in New Geneva for the brief period of 1874-1876 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 165). Eneix stoneware is not commonly seen due to the brief period of manufacture.
This beauty features the Wax Sealer Form with Grooved Rim, Canted Sides, and the Company Advertising Surrounding a Sheaf of Wheat. Stands 8 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. Chipping around the inside of the rim and some faint stain runs from use. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some roughness on the top of the rim from separation from another piece in the manufacture.
