Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Canning Jar made by Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA.  
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Fancy and Delicate Stenciled Label.  The top features a horizontal floral with a blossom at each end, the middle sports the company name incorporating the ampersam flanked by florals, and the bottom boasts two horizontal lines of diamonds framing the company address.  The stencil is complete, crisp, and executed with dark cobalt.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.
 
Exceptional Condition.  As made. No damage of any kind.
