Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar from "Greensboro, PA."  It was made by either Hamilton and Jones or James Hamilton.  
 
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with a Groove for Pouring the Hot Wax Sealant, and the City of the Pottery Underscored with a Fancy Emblem.  Stands 8" tall.
 
Not a common jar with this configuration of decorative elements. 
 
Excellent Condition. Two narrow contiguous chips inside the rim (1/2", 3/4").  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
