    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Tiny Cream Pot made by "Foell & Alt, Corner Sarah & 26th Sts., South Side, Pitts." 

     

    This is the work of John Foell & Nicholas Alt who worked together in the pottery in Pittsburgh from 1857 to 1885. This pot dates from after 1872 when the South Side became part of Pittsburgh (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 146). 

     

    Not many pieces from this pottery have survived. 

     

    This beauty features a Small Size, Rounded Rim, and Five Lines of Stenciled Advertising.  Stands 6 1/2" tall.  

     

    Very Good Condition.  A few water glass rings inside and a 1/4" chip with 2" hairline below on the right side (closeup).  No inner rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
