Item 11281

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "F. H. Cowden, Harrisburg."

This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden who ran the company with this stamp from 1880-1888 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and an Elaborate Stenciled Snowflake in Bright Cobalt Blue.  In spite of being so detailed, the snowflake is complete in every way.  Note the four interior "arrowheads."   Stands 13 1/4" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A minor nibble on the bottom edge and staining on the lower half.  No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
