Item 11478

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous 1/2 Gallon Jar with Profuse Decoration.

The decoration indicats that this jar is the work of the pottery of William Linton of Baltimore, Maryland.  Linton made stoneware from 1845 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 98).

This beauty features a Brushed Cobalt Garland of Leaves and Blossoms all Around the Middle.  There are 6 blossoms and 3 large leaves.   All the cobalt is rich and shiny.  A very flamboyant decoration.   Stands 8 1/2".

I have photographed the jar two ways- first with a leaf and two flowers together in three pictures and then with the 3 florals and 3 leaves separately in six pictures.  Lots of ways to display the jar.

Very Good Condition.  Three chips on the rim not in the making (1/8" to 1/2").  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
