Item 12615
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this scrumptous 2 Gallon Salt Glazed and Decorated Cream Pot.
The form and decoration indicate that this pot is the work of Edward and Thomas Edmands who ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1852-1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).
This beauty features the Attractive Cream Pot Form with Rounded Rim, Tall Neck with Tooled Shoulder Band, Bulbous Body, and a Hummingbird and Flower Decoration. The bird is in mid-flight as it is poised to extract pollen from an elaborate flower. His eye was pushed into the clay before firing- a characteristic of Edmands decoration. A simple decoration with incredible aesthetic appeal. Measures 10 3/4" tall and 8 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A dime-sized colored chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
