Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."
This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania using this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).
Thus beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals, and a Huge Brushed Cobalt Flower Blossom Decoration in Bright and Shiny Cobalt. Stands 13 1/2" tall.
Excellent Condition. A stained 2" vertical line on the bottom of the right side that does not appear inside (closeup). That's it! No spout or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
