Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this superb 2 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot that reads, "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Top and Bottom Stripe that Frames the Company Advertising Framed by Leaves and the Capacity Number Below Framed by Tulip Blossoms. Measures 10" tall and 9 3/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1" chip on the back at the bottom. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A drying/firing line inside that stops at the rim in the making (closeup).
