Item 11827

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Preserve Jar made in and stamped "Cortland."

This is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland, New York from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).

This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Four Brushed Cobalt Tulips on the Front.  A lot of decoration for a small jar!  Stands 8 3/4" tall.

Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" chip on the interior rim seating ring and a very faint 2 1/4" line from the rim to the tooled shoulder lines on the right side (closeup).  That's it!  No rim or base chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
