Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Rose.
It comes from either Hamilton and Jones or James Hamilton of Greensboro, Pennsylvania.
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Rose in Full Bloom with a Bud Above and Leaves Elsewhere. Not a common stencil but one reflecting the Greensboro potters love of the rose decoration. Stands 8 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. Two chips inside the rim as shown in the interior picture (3/8", 1/2"). That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
