Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon and lovely 1 Gallon Stoneware Canning Jar from Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Circa 1880 and probably hailing from Greensboro, PA, this beauty features a Jar Form with Tooled Rim Allowing a String to Tie a Cover Over the Top, Two Top and One Bottom Stripe Framing Two Fancy Emblems that are a Mirror Image of Each Other. Complete stencils. Dark cobalt on a light gray glaze for remarkable contrast. Stands 10" tall.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chip at the base. That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains or restoration.
