Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this gorgeous Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher. 
 
Circa 1880 and hand-thrown on a pottery wheel, this beauty features a Slightly Ovoid Form, Pinched Spout, Graceful Handle with Thumbgrip, and Carefully Applied Sponging in a Scroll Pattern.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble inside the rim and four around the base. That's it!  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.    An exceptional example of this form of larger hand-made pitchers.
