Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made in Beaver, Pennsylvania.

 

Circa 1870, this beauty features a Heavy Composition Typical of Beaver Stoneware, Tooled Rim, and a Brushed Cobalt Vine with Two Dangling Tulips with the Freehand "2" Capacity Number below.  The vine sports 5 leaves, and two blossom with 5 nad 4 petals respectively. Bright cobalt on a light gray glaze for strong contrast.  Stands 11 1/2" tall. 

 

Very Good Condition.  A 2 1/2" shallow chip inside the rim (inside picture), and a half dozen small chips at the base/underside (1/4" to 1/2").  No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
