    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Merchant Jar made for "C. F. Parsons & Son, Hardward, Glass, Queensware & C., Huntington, W. VA. 

     

    This jar form and decoration indicate that it was probably made by James Hamilton of Greensboro, PA or perhaps his Successor, T. F. Reppert.  James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).

     

    This beauty features a Lidded Jar Form with Top and Bottom Cobalt Stripes Framinig the Four Lines of Advertising.  Stands 9 1/2" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  Wear around the inner seating ring where a lid would sit, three small chips inside the rim (1/4" or less), a 1" chip on the rim on the left front, and a narrow 1/2" chip at the base.  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
