Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare Blue and White Spongeware Embossed Plate.  It was made and stamped "Burford Bros., E. L. O." 
 
This is the work of the Burford Brothers of East Liverpool, Ohio.  
 
Dating to the late 19th century, this beauty features an Border of Ivy with a Profile of Ulysses S. Grant in the Center.  Measures 10 1/4" wide.
 
It is featured in Terry Taylor and Terry and Kay Lowrance, Collector's Encyclopedia of Salt Glaze Stoneware, p. 182.  As you know, embossed spongeware plates are rare.
