Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue on Blue Spongeware Butter Crock.
Dating around 1900, this beauty features a "Butter" Label with Darker Blue Sponging on a Lighter Blue Background. Measures 4 1/4" tall by 6 1/4" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Five narrow chips around the base (1/8" to 1/2") and a 1" chip on the underside at the edge. No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
A spongeware pattern not commonly seen.
