Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Blue and White Butter Crock.
The form and coloration of this butter crock indicates that it was made by the Western Stoneware Co., Monmouth, Illinois.
Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty has a diffused blue coloration with "Butter" in a Fancy Frame. Retains is original lid and bail handle. Measures 5 1/2" tall and 6" wide across the top.
As you know, this is not a common pattern for this maker.
Excellent Condition. The base has a 1/4" chip on the front of the right handle holder, and two small chips at the base (1/4", 1/2"). No rim chips, hairline, cracks, stains or restoration. The lid is mint.
