Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Jug with Double-Handles made for the Merchant, "John Reid, Jr., Grocer & Wholesale Liquor Dealer, 1518 Main St. Wheeling, W. V." 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Large Size, Double Handles with Cobalt Accent at the Terminals, a Large Freehand Sideways Tulip Underscored by a Wavy Stripe on the Shoulder, Company Advertising in Seven Lines and Accented by Leaves in the Middle, and the Capacity Number Framed by a Wavy and a Straight Stripe on the Bottom.  Stands 17 3/4" tall.
 
Very Good Condition with Restoration.  A 3/8" chip on the front side of the left handle and professional restoration of the right handle.  No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or stains.
