Item 12061
Coming to you from Doc's Crock is this superb Stoneware Stovepipe Wax Sealer Canning Jar.
Circa 1870 and hailing from Southwestern Pennsylvania, this beauty features the Stovepipe Form, Small 6 1/8" Size, and Five Stripes Down the Front. It is unusual in having four broad stripes and one thin wavy stripe. The decorator left too much space between the bottom two stripes to please him, so he squeezed in another!
Excellent Condition. Two chips on the inner rim (1/4", 3/4") and very minor nibbles inside the outer rim. No chips outside the outer rim or base, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
