    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "Athens Potery, N.Y."  (someone forgot the second t in Pottery)

     

    This is the mark of Thomas and Edward Ryan who operated the old Clark pottery from 1892 to around 1899 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, p. 139).

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Blossom Poised on a Squiggle Stem.  Bright cobalt on a warm gray glaze for a pleasing look.  Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.  

     

    Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip inside the rim, a 3/4" chip outside the rim above the left handle, an 1/8" nibble on the left handle, and a 1/4" chip on the right handle.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
