Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Bowl made by "A. Conrad, New Geneva, Fayette Co., PA."
Alexander Conrad ran the pottery in New Geneva from 1870-1882 before moving to Shinnston, WV (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 164-65).
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features an Uncommon Bowl Form, Tooled Rim to Facilitate Tying a Cover Over the Top, Tapered Sides, and Four Lines of Advertising with Floral Accents. Stands 4 1/2" tall and 10 3/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1 1/2" chip on the underside of the rim on the right side. That's it! No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
