Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Two Gallon Stoneware Jug whose decoration indicates that it was made by Carlton Bachelder, of Menasha Wisconsin.  He ran his pottery from 1855 -1866 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 148).

 

This beauty features Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips on a Leaf Stem that just Burst with Cobalt.  Powerful contrast with the light gray glaze.  Stands 13 1/2" 

 

Very Good Condition.  A 1/4" drilled hole on the back bottom from being a lamp.  Otherwise, as made.  Some dry spots on the cobalt and a kiln touch on the right side in the making.
