    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Yellow Ware Butter Crock.  It was part of the "Dandy Line" of the Brush McCoy Company in Zanesville, Ohio.

     

    Dating to the early 20th century, this beauty features Three White Slip Bands around the Middle with "Butter" Prominently Displayed.  Measures 3 5/8" tall and 5 7/8" wide.

     

    This piece is pictured in Lisa McAllister and John Michel, Collector's Guide to Yellow Ware, Book I, on p. 83.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A flat 3/16" flake on the center stripe in the back, some glaze loss on the bottom either from the use or the making, and some overall crazing of age.  No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
