Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Unusual 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug stamped "Cortland."
This is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the only pottery in Cortland, N.Y. from 1849-1885. (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 71).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp and an Elaborate Floral. Stands 10 3/4" tall.
Fair Condition. Some staining on the back, two chips on the back bottom edge, and a missing handle. No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
