Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Unusual 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Wm. E. Warner, West Troy."
This is the mark of William E. Warner who ran a pottery in West Troy, N.Y. from the 1840's until 1871 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 67-68).
This beauty features a Cobalt Tulip with Three Leaves and a Blossom with Seven Dotted Petals on the Front, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash on the Right Side, and a Pour Spout on the Left Side. Stands 14" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 1" chip on the pour spout, a 3/8" ping on the right side of the spout, and some staining from use. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
