Item 13189

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Whites Utica."

This is a mark of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, NY from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Parrot Perched on a Stump Decoration.  This was one of Whites signature decorations.   This one is particularly well-drawn and the cobalt rich and shiny.  Stands 11 1/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Four chips on the underside at the edge on the left side (1/4" to 1/2").  That's it!   No spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A kiln touch and recess on the pottery stamp and a stone ping on the left side in the making.
