Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Whites Utica."
This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).
This beauty features an Unusual Tall and Slender Form, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip Pointing to the Left. The tulip has 7 base leaves, dotted leaf on the stem, and a blossom with 10 petals. Stands 15 3/8" tall.
Excellent Condition. An 1/8" chip inside the spout, a 1/2" chip on left side middle, and a 1/4" chip at the base. That's it! No outer spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
