    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Decorated Batter Jug.  

     

    The decoration indicates that it was made by Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery in Utica, New York from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , pp. 70-71).

     

    This beauty features a Brushed Bright Cobalt Orchid Decoraton and an Old Bail Handle.  Measures 9 1/4" tall. 

     

    Very Good Condition.  Two 3/16" chips on the body and chips along the front of the handle on the back bottom.  No rim or spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
