• Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "Whites Utica."


    This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).


    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and one of White's Signature Decorations: the Orchid Wreath Shaped Like a Lyre.  Stands 13 3/4" tall.  


    Excellent Condition.  A 3/8" chip inside the rim and a 1" chip on top of the rim in the back, two chips on the left handle (1/8", 1/4") and three on the right handle (1/2" each), two chips on the base (1/4", 1/2"), and a few faint stain runs.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
