Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 2 Gallon Jar made and stamped by "White's Utica."

This is a work of Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 69-70).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, Large Running Bird with Fantail on a Branch Decoration, and a Cinnamon Glaze.  It has a strong, pleasing visual presence.  Stands 11" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A water glass ring inside, some very, very light water glass staining outside, and a 1/4" chip on the right handle.   That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A tiny kiln touch above the tail and a small stone ping in the tail in the making.
