Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "West Troy Pottery." This is the mark used by William Warner of West Troy, New York (now Watervliet) from 1843 to 1871.
This beauty was made for for the merchant, "I. Nusbaum & Son, 368 Broadway, Albany, N.Y.'
Circa 1870, this beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a the Merchant Advertising in Block Cobalt Letters. Stands 16 1/2" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 6 1/2" in-body hairline to the right of the stenciled advertising, and some fine traces of white paint. No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration. The chip on the spout is in the making and glazed over.
