Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Preserve Jar made and stamped by [W. A. Macquoid & Co.] Pottery Works, Little West 12th St., N.Y."  (First line is not impressed).

This is the work of William A. MacQuoid who ran his pottery in Manhattan from 1863-1879. Macquoid created some of the most folky decorations in American stoneware history like this one here (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware , p. 63).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Double Floral with Two Kinds of Blossoms!  Must be a new hybrid!  Stands 11 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Two minor 1/4" chips on the inner rim where a lid would sit. That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
