Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful and uncommon 1 1/2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "W. A. Lewis, Galesville, N.Y."  
 
This is the work of William A. Lewis who ran the family pottery in Galesville from 1857 to 1860. (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, a Fancy Tornado, and a Freehand Capacity Number.  Stands 11 3/4" tall.
 
Very Good Condition. A line through the handle as shown (closeup).  No chips, body hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
