Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "J. A. and C. W. Underwood, Fort Edward, N.Y."  

 

This duo ran the pottery in Fort Edward from 1865 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 88).  

 

This beauty features a Clear Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Bird on a Branch Decoration. Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.

 

Excellent Condition.  A quarter-size stain by the left handle.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  A stone ping above the pottery stamp and right handle in the making.
