Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "J. A. and C. W. Underwood, Fort Edward, N.Y."  

 

This duo ran the pottery in Fort Edward from 1865 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 88).  

 

This beauty features a Clear Pottery Stamp, Tall and Narrow Form, and a Brushed Cobalt Bird on a Branch that Fills the Front.  The cobalt is bright and shiny.  Stands 13 1/4" tall.

 

Excellent Condition.  An 1/8" nibble on the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A stone ping on the shoulder back by the handle in the making.
