Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "T. Harrington, Lyons."
This is the work of Thompson Harrington who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1852 to 1872 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 73-74).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, a Freehand "3" Capacity Number, and Three Large Brushed Cobalt Tulips Blossoms Emerging from a Cluster of Seven Leaves. Measures 10 3/4" tall and 11 3/4" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. As made. No damage of any kind. A 2" line from the rim on the right of the pottery stamp in the making from a drying/firing line inside (closeups).
