Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer made by "T. F. Reppert, Successor to J. Hamilton and Co., Greensboro, PA."

This is the work of Thomas Reppert who worked in Greensboro solo from 1884-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners , pp 157-58).

This beauty features the Company Advertising centered on a Patriotic Shield with Floral Accents at the Bottom.  This jar reflects Reppert's attempt to market his stoneware by association with James Hamilton whose pottery he purchased and who was extremely successful in pottery sales. Stands 9 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Six minor nibbles inside the rim (3/8" or less), and faint staining on the back.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
