Item 11318
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 7 1/4" Stoneware Jar Decorated with Tulips.
The form and decoration make it easy to attribute this jar to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).
Circa 1870, this beauty features a Small Size, Tooled Squared Rim and Shoulder, and Three Brushed Cobalt Tulips around the Outside. Each tulip as a stem with 10 leaves and a drooping blossom with 3 leaves. Stands 7 1/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. A minor 1/8" chip inside the rim, a couple minor nibbles and a 5/8" chip on the outside of the rim, and a 1/4" flake at the base. No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
