Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderfu 1 Gallon Decorated Jar with Large Tulip.

 

The decoration indicates that this is the work of Madison Woodruff who ran the pottery in Cortland, New York from 1849-1885 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 71).

 

This beauty sports a Tulip with Two Leaves and a Blossom with Six Petals-- all in Bright and Shiny Cobalt.  Stands 8 3/4" tall.

 

Very Good Condition.  Minor wear and nibbles on the inner lid-seating ring, a y-shaped hairline on the right side at the bottom that wraps under to a mainly surface star hairline (closeup), and a couple small stains.  No outer rim or base chips, cracks, or restoration.
