Item 13138

Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Superb 1 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar with 5 Stripes.

The color and decoration indicate that it was made in Palatine, West Virginia about 1880 (modern Fairmont).

This beauty features a Finely Tooled Grooved Rim into Which to Pour the Hot Wax Sealant, and Five Wide Brushed Cobalt Stripes Down the Front.  Pretty cobalt against a warm gray glaze.  Stands 10 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  Some small chips together on the inner rim as shown in the inside picture, and a small light stain on the back.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.

I seldom see such handsome stripers!
