    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 8" Wax Sealer Canning Jar made for "Lipscomb & Somerville, Staunton, VA."

     

    This beauty was made by A. P. Donaghho of Parkersburg, W.V. Donaghho ran his pottery in Parkersburg from 1874-1900.

     

    I see a few jars made for this merchant, but rarely ever see a wax sealer.  Very few on auction record as well.

     

    This beauty features the Wax Sealer Form with the Merchant Name and Address Clearly and Boldly Stenciled on the Front. Stands 8" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition. Chips around the inner rim and a few scattered nibbles in the glaze as shown.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
