Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar whose form and decoration indicate that it was made by Stephen B. Sweeney, Henrico County, Virginia, James River. Sweeney made pottery from 1835 to 1862.

Dating to the mid-19th century, this beauty features a Semi-Ovoid Form, Carefully Tooled Rim and Shoulder, Handles with Cobalt Accents at the Terminals, and a Brushed Cobalt Cloud Floral on Each Side. Stands 9 3/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. A faint hairline across the base and invisibly a quarter of the way around the base. No chips, cracks, stains, or restoration.
