Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made for the merchants, "Smith & Brown, 40 Charlotte St., Utica, N.Y." 
 
It is easy to attribute this jug to Nicholas White and his sons, William and Charles, who ran the White family pottery from 1865-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 70-71).
 
This beauty features Four Lines of Large Block Cobalt Letter Advertising.  The contrast between the light glaze and dark lettering is outstanding!  Stands 11 1/4" tall.
