Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made and stamped by "S. Hart, Fulton."
This is the stamp of Samuel Hart who potted in Fulton, New York with this stamp from 1840-1876 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 74-75).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash on the Shoulder, Freehand Capacity Number "2" Riding a Tornado, and a Dotted Lovebird Decoration. This style of bird was a signature decoration of this potter. Measures 9 1/2" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Some scattered light staining. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A stone ping to the right of the capacity number in the making.
