Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by "S. B. Bosworth, Hartford, CT."
Bosworth worked in Hartford, Connecticut alone using this stamp around 1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 61).
This beauty sports the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Brushed Cobalt Bird on a Branch Decoration. Measures 10 1/4" tall and 10 3/4" wide across the top.
Good Condition. Some water glass staining inside near the bottom, ten chips outside the rim (1/8" to 3/4"), a 2" Y-shaped hairline on the back at the bottom, and staining near the base as shown. No inner rim or base chips, cracks, or restoration. Dry cobalt in the making.
